About Libby

Libby lives with her husband Jonathan, their daughter and a growing array of animals in the remote hillside community of Fell End in the parish of Ravenstonedale in Cumbria.

A rural broadband champion and localism pioneer, Libby previously worked as the project officer for the Upper Eden Community Plan that was hailed as a Big Society vanguard project in 2010.

Between 2013 and 2017 Libby represented Kirkby Stephen division on Cumbria County Council before standing down to focus on work, family and begin studying for a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics with the Open University.

Libby continues to play an active role in local issues as the secretary of the 106 Bus Partnership, Chairman of Upper Eden Community First Responders, Board Member of Encounter Eden and steering group member for the Upper Eden Community Plan.

After delivering a Fibre to the Home rural broadband project in her own community of Fell End, Libby continues to work with other communities to bring superfast Broadband to their homes and businesses.
